How does it work?
The tool works by comparing versions of the full website. Each version (Technically known as a cache) is like a saved version of the website at that point in time at intervals defined by you. The system will automatically 'crawl' the website (much in the same way that a search engine works) and save a new cache/version of the website.
The Web Monitor identifies all changes to your English site, from minor tweaks to new pages. When a change or a new addition is found, the system automatically flags it for translation. A translator can then undertake the translation of the new content, directly within the CMS.

How quick is the translation?
On average, we'll update 100 words per hour. So your multilingual sites will normally be in sync within a few hours of a change being made to your English site. If you are a heavy publisher, (e.g. new content twice a day) we'll arrange for additional translators to be on stand-by.
Can I maintain part of the site, i.e. not all pages?
Yes, absolutely. For example if there are categories of news or products that you want ignored, it is easy to exclude individual pages or specific sections. With Web Monitor, anything is possible!
Do I have to schedule when I want to make changes?
No, you may update the site as and when you want. However if we do create a simple schedule it will improve the translation speed as we can arrange to have translators at the ready anticipating your content.
Technical Details
The Web Monitor can work independently, or as part of your existing content management system (CMS). It can work with simple static HTML pages as well as with complex dynamic database driven sites. Web Monitor is a hosted # .net web application, there is no need to install software or change server settings.
